Etching, 2008

The Carbonsink is a large but intricate etching on delicate Japanese paper. It shows archetypical organic shapes of a tree, both menacing and poetic, with marine-life nestled in its roots. Beautiful shapes of marine organisms and plant life are encountered in coral reefs and forests. They are the major carbon-binding organisms on our planets and labelled as carbon sinks. The zinc plate has been used in the print-installation Delicate Balance.
