Hand-drawing and photographic imagery combine in this three-layer etching on tan-coloured Gampi paper, which has been adhered to white rag paper with a technique called Chine-collé.

Marella are an extinct species from the Cambrian. Many of its fossils are found in the Burgess Shale formation in the Rocky Mountains.
